Percy Priest Lake Fishing Report 2-15-09

Weekly Fishing Report for Percy Priest Lake

Fishing this past week has been above average due to some warmer weather that had moved in. This caused the fish to move a little shallower than normal. Warm days with brite sun will get the fish to move up and stage on rock banks this time of year.

Bass Fishing has been good with the most success coming off jig & pig combination with crankbaits working well on those warm days. Most successful depth has been from the shallows on out to 15 foot of water.

Crappie Fishing has been great. Best depths have been from 4-10 foot of water with minnows and jigs. On cloudy days they tend to back off a little deeper.

Stripers fishing has been sporadic but good when found. Most success coming from 10-20 foot of water on spoons or live bait.

Trout fishing has been great due to the stocking at Nice Mill last week. Go on the week days so you do not have to fight the crowd.

Water Temp - 42 degrees
Water Level - 482.73 ft.

Percy Priest Lake Fishing Report 2-1-09

Weekly Fishing Report for J. Percy Priest Lake

Fishing on Percy Priest Lake this past week has been below average for this time of year. Weather has been some what of a factor due to rain and fronts that have come through. There has been some current trying to keep the water level down to normal winter pool cause some trash and lite muddy water in some areas.

The lower end of the lake seemed to be the best areas of lake fishing jigs or spoons near points and drops.
